Have you ever wondered to what the A and the W stand for ? Well after a little research I came to the conclusion that A stands for Allen and W stands for Wright. Roy Allen was an entrepreneur who on a hot day of June in 1919 Lodi, California, mixed up that what is now the famous creamy root beer. He then sold his first drink for only a NICKEL. I wish.....
So then in 1922, Roy Allen and his new partner Frank Wright and three locations were then opened near by in Sacramento.
(Full credits to Wikipedia; it helped me find the information for the founders and associates, total of locations and such...)
Okay so I promised my best friend Mohannad Chafchak that I'd talk about my first time going to A&W because it was pretty interesting. It was last Monday, January 10th, 2011. And we didn't feel like going to first period which was bio so we decided to go out for breakfast, we went to McDonald's but they had the breakfast menu up, we went to Taco Bell but it was close, Harvey's .. too lazy to cross the streets, so A&W happened to be there, we went in and Mohannad got the 2 for 4$ Mama burgers, and I got the same + fries and regular root beer. We sat down waited for the food and while waiting I decided to get another drink so we'd each have one, Mohannad was a loser and got me the Root Beet Float, yeah it's good but I'm handicapped and can't use my right hand so it was pretty messed up considering it's HUGE.
The Mama burgers were honestly the yummiest burgers I've ever eaten and since we each got 2 and they contain 450 calories that is about 900 calories each + an extra 260 calories for the fries + the Root Beer Float which is 270 calories and surprisingly the regular root beer drink was 320 calories.
Here's our Root Beer Float that we took turns trying to chug it ..big fail we couldn't finish it :p

AMAZINGLY GOOOOOOOD !!! <3
I give Roy Allen and Frank Wright props!
I can definitely say it's a must BUY Root Beer, I'm kind of craving one right now ..
