Harvey’s is the second largest Canadian established restaurant chain behind Tim Horton’s, and is the fourth largest burger chain in Canada. Harvey’s was founded by George. B. Sukomyk and Rick Mauran in early 1959. The first Harvey’s location was opened on April 1st, 1959 at the southeast corner of Yonge Street and Observatory Lane in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
(Full credits to Wikipedia; it helped me find the information for the founders and associates)
One of the specialities on the menu would have to be the Big Harv with Cheese. It contains 710 calories, 37 g fat (17.4 saturated), and 1.211 mg sodium. This giant meat-stuffed sandwich itself is enough without the whole regular order of fries (382 calories, 20 grams of fat) or even worst a poutine (700 calories, 40 grams of fat).
In my defence no more than 10 percent of calories should come from saturated and Trans fats. Choose wisely, the last time I went to Harvey’s I got the Original Hamburger and I saved 350 calories and 19 grams of fat (357 calories, 18 grams of fat, seven saturated, and 1.000 milligrams of sodium). It must have been one of the tastiest burgers I’ve ever encountered in any restaurant by far.
