Tim Horton's

Tim Horton’s is a Canadian coffee and donut shop that’s been founded in 1964 by hockey player himself Tim Horton. As of July 4th 2010, there are about 3,627 restaurants, in Canada only around 3,040 and 587 in the United States.

(Full credits to Wikipedia; it helped me find the information for the founders and associates, total of locations and such...)

Hey bloggers! You probably picked Tim Horton’s considering it's the most visited place in Windsor, maybe from where you live too!

Tim Horton’s is probably one of the most addicting fast food restaurants out there, not only is their food and drinks delicious but there is a Tim Horton on probably every corner in Windsor, Ontario. So if you pass one and thought to yourself you didn’t feel like it today, well once you reach another one you’ll change your mind for sure. I don’t think anyone can go a day without buying from Tim Horton’s if not a day then a week.

The most calories would be in the Tim Horton’s coffee double double which has 230 calories, 7 g saturated fat, 0.4 g Trans fat, 50 mg sodium (about 47.0% of fat, 45.2% of Carbs, 3.5% of protein). But honestly I think donuts and deserts and ect... at Tim Horton’s should be more of a treat than a hobby.

Harvey's

Harvey’s is the second largest Canadian established restaurant chain behind Tim Horton’s, and is the fourth largest burger chain in Canada. Harvey’s was founded by George. B. Sukomyk and Rick Mauran in early 1959. The first Harvey’s location was opened on April 1st, 1959 at the southeast corner of Yonge Street and Observatory Lane in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

One of the specialities on the menu would have to be the Big Harv with Cheese. It contains 710 calories, 37 g fat (17.4 saturated), and 1.211 mg sodium. This giant meat-stuffed sandwich itself is enough without the whole regular order of fries (382 calories, 20 grams of fat) or even worst a poutine (700 calories, 40 grams of fat).

In my defence no more than 10 percent of calories should come from saturated and Trans fats. Choose wisely, the last time I went to Harvey’s I got the Original Hamburger and I saved 350 calories and 19 grams of fat (357 calories, 18 grams of fat, seven saturated, and 1.000 milligrams of sodium). It must have been one of the tastiest burgers I’ve ever encountered in any restaurant by far.

Pizza Hut

Their Logo and most important variety; "Pizza's".

Pizza Hut is an American restaurant chain that was founded 1958 by the brothers Dan and Frank Carney in their hometown of Wichita, Kansas. One of their friends suggested opening a Pizza Parlor so they rented a small building at 503 souths Bluff in downtown Wichita.

They chose the name "Pizza Hut" since the sign they purchased only had enough space for 9 characters and spaces.
(Full credits to Wikipedia; it helped me find the information for the founders and some of the information above.)

One of the speciality on the menu is called the Pepperoni lovers’ Pizza which contains 800 calories, 39 g fat (16 saturated), and 1,830 mg sodium. But for better if you cannot do without the Pepperoni as one of your toppings, go with the Pepperoni only Pizza and save 155 calories and 13 grams of fat (645 calories, 26 grams of fat, ten saturated, and 1,305 milligrams of sodium).

Everyone loves their pizza, order them pizza from which ever place it could be a clean or dirty place, and they’ll still eat the pizza. It gives fast food business owners the opportunity to make them even more delicious but then that includes even more fattening, so more calories than required. But since there no nutrition’s table on the box of the pizza or anywhere, nobody really pays any attention to how much it contains, therefore its rated second on the top 10 of the fattest fast food chains.

I personally would have never thought it would be on the top 10 most fattening fast food chains, so I definitely have learned something new about Pizza Hut. I'm not saying -DO NOT eat there, do as you please because I've eaten there before and let me tell you they make a mean pizza and juicy wings. I went for someone’s birthday so obviously like every other restaurant they give you free desert which was this awesome cinnamon cake, it’s been 3 years since I ate there and last been there, maybe things have changed maybe not. But as a first time go-were I was satisfied.

McDonald's

McDonald's restaurant was first founded in 1955 in Illinois, the first McDonald's restaurant outside of the United States opened in Richmond, British Colombia in 1967.

Every four hours a new McDonald's opens somewhere, no wonder there are over 30 000 locations in the world.

(Full credits to Wikipedia; it helped me find the information for the founders and information above)

One out of ten biggest fast food restaurants is McDonald's Double Quarter pounder with cheese. It contains 740 calories, 44 g fat (21 saturated), 1300 mg sodium. If you switch to a McDonald's Double Quarter pounder with NO cheese you subtract about 25 grams of fat. It has 420 calories, 19 grams of fat ( 8 saturated ) and 620 milligrams of sodium. You can see without the cheese made 320 calories difference.

Eating fast food is not necessarily a bad thing, but take your time when you're deciding what to order. In my defence I find McDonald's the top fast food restaurant that has the most fattening, even though it smells incredible and the taste is fantastic, which is the reason why everyone buys McDonald's in the first place, you consume way too much calories by just eating 1 meal maybe up to around 1000 something or more calories, and you only need to consume about 2000-2500 calories PER day. Maybe eating McDonald's once or twice a month is good enough but eating it once or twice a week is really bad for your health. Eating fast food is not necessarily a bad thing, but everyone should take their time when they’re deciding what to order.

The video above shows how the food reacts overtime. Over the days, weeks and months that goes by. Here are the seven experiments that he has used.

- Big Mac
-  Chicken McGrill
- Fillet-O-Fish
- Quarter Pounder
- French Fries
- Hamburger (real meat)
- French fries (regular restaurant)

As you can see after 2 weeks if you compare the French Fries, that McDonalds one looks completely just bought and the French Fries from a regular restaurant is obviously old. What’s the matter with the French Fries from McDonald’s?

Now if you compare all of the burgers, after 2 weeks they’re all starting to mould except for the Big Mac (most of everyone’s favourite burger off the menu).

Around between 3-5 weeks the Big Mac started to mould along with the other burgers. This experiment lasted up to 10 weeks until they threw them away from the nasty smell, after 10 weeks the burgers looked gross and poisoning and the McDonald French Fries ... well let’s just say they looked like it’s just been bought the day before, how long could have the French Fries lasted? I’m curious to know also.
